Katie in Love
By Chloe Thurlow
Published by Thistle Publishing
"The Anaïs Nin of our times." Katie Boyd has nothing in common with Tom Bridge, the volunteer doctor she meets at a party - except in bed she finds a passion to match her own. Tom is intense, puzzling, a man who cares about others and compels Katie to question her own life drifting through the hip clubs and London party scene. When Tom returns to his post in a Sri Lanka orphanage, Katie isn't sure if their passion was lit by its brevity, or if love, unexpected and not entirely wanted, has edged its way into her life. Should she go back to being who she always was? Or follow Tom into the unknown?
After uni, Thurlow started working in PR and got bored to tears. It was more fun being a waitress and writing in the dark silent hours from 2am to 6. Chloe managed to complete a novel I called "Being A Girl" and fell over in the street after Nexus published it and the editor gave her a bottle of champagne. Now, Thurlow is penning away night and day, five novels and three naughty-shorties on the shelf with a study of EL James called "The Fifty Shades of Grey Phenomena" just out.
I have really enjoyed this book. This is for anyone who is not afraid to be human or to be in love.
I loved this book. A good story, well told. It's not afraid to be sexually explicit when that helps to propel the story but sex is never allowed to become the point nor get in the way of the story.
A wonderful book: poetic and provocative prose, enigmatic characters, heartening story.
Well written and fun - everything I'd expect from this excellent blogger
Great book!!! Highly recommended...
Not just a writer, but a true literary talent.
A beautifully written story of erotic fiction.
A great read, a very human, very erotic love story.
An adult sexy book. Wonderful writer. Smart and insightful.
Enjoy reading it ..
Gorgeous book. I loved it.
Well written and sexy. And oh so much better than 50 Shades of Grey
Such a great, sexy and moving read. Of the highest literary standard - couldn't put it down!
Unique among contemporary writers of erotic fiction, Chloe Thurlow is an exceptionally good writer. Her command of the English language and meticulous editing combine to produce literature os a very high order.
The ending unexpected and welcomed made this my favorite of the authors’ work. Beautifully written erotic love story.
What a wonderful news dear fellow novelist Chloe Thurlow! Congratulations on your book prize! A deserved prize indeed! I loved your wonderful book. God bless you every day! Jean Baptiste Rufatabahizi, novelist @JrufataJ
Reading “Katie in Love” by Chloë Thurlow was like finding myself in the substance of this or that context, like contemplating fragments of life from a mirror that has sunk deep in the lake of the past, never to be seen again. Nostalgia quivers and captivates you. The reading is provocative. Where Katie goes, her simple presence delivers a lively scent of Erotica. She needs not to undress or get explicit. No! She is the doe in the forest.
The best fiction writer since John Fowles
Loved the book.
I LOVED this book. Chloe writes with such an intelligent voice, with wit, and surprising insights. This is literary erotica of the highest level, akin to Anais Nin and Pauline Reage. A must read.
Chloe is an amazing writer. This is a delightful and erotic story of a woman's journey into falling in love.
Thurlow has been compared to Anais Nin. In fact, the cover of the paperback has a direct quote making the comparison, but it is almost too simplistic. Thurlow has the advantage of being an author at the pinnacle of modernity, and evolving the tradition of the art and craft of writing erotic romance. You will want to re-read every word of this sensational novel.
Fantastic work; it deserves all the accolades it has received!
Thurlow is a wonderful writer, literate and saucy!!
Chloe Thurlow is one of the most talented authors of her generation. I love her writing, and Katie in Love is an absolutely superb book.
Girl meets boy; they fall in love; and then everything else is completely unexpected. Great writing. Mesmerising to the end.
